Pediatric Hematology-Oncology

Dr. Marcio Malogolowkin examines patient in hospital room.

UC Davis Pediatric Hematology-Oncology providers diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer and blood disorders. Our objectives are to ensure our pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients have access to the best care and leading-edge research close to home, and to improve outcomes for patients by participating in the development of better treatments.

Patients coming to UC Davis for treatment have access to clinical trials of new therapies rarely offered at community hospitals, a full complement of supportive programs while in treatment, and the region’s only clinic for managing the long-term effects of treatment on survivors of childhood cancers.

We offer several multidisciplinary clinics where patients can see a range of experts during the same clinic visit, as well as the region’s only clinic for managing the long-term effects of treatment on survivors of childhood cancers. Additional resources for patients and their families include case management, social support services, child life and art therapy services, and temporary housing during extended hospital stays.

Pediatric blood specialists provide expert care for children with clotting and bleeding disorders. The Pediatric Comprehensive Hemoglobinopathy Clinic is a State of California center-designated program and provides expertise for children with red blood cell disorders.
