Philosophy of Care
My philosophy of care is to build long-standing relationship with patients and their family members that is based on the foundation of a thorough understanding of the diagnosis and management options for each congenital heart disease in order to understand and support their goals and needs.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Pundi is a pediatric cardiologist with expertise in cardiac imaging modalities including trans-thoracic, trans-esophageal, and fetal echocardiograms. She has previously established multidisciplinary long-term surveillance programs for children and adults with single ventricle palliation (i.e. after the Fontan operation) and hopes to continue her efforts here at UC Davis. Dr. Pundi also has also participated in many international medical mission trips in Pediatric Cardiology and has a strong interest in supporting global health programs with an education-based focus to expand access to care for patients with congenital heart disease.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Pundi's primary research focuses on optimizing long-term surveillance protocols and provision of integrated multidisciplinary care for children and adolescents with single ventricle physiology (i.e. after the Fontan operation) in order to provide seamless transition to adulthood. In addition, Dr. Pundi has a clinical interest in the diagnosis and management of Pulmonary Hypertension and is also involved in multicenter research studies in collaboration with the Fetal Heart Society.
