All 20 units must be completed in order to receive the minor certification. For the minor to be awarded, the OASIS Minor Declaration Form must be approved prior to graduation. The Minor Declaration form will only be approved after the student is enrolled in the final course for the minor. Please view instructions on how to submit the petition below. 

How to declare a public health minor. You should file your minor petition when you have taken or are registered for all classes you need to fulfill the minor requirements. Usually, this is the beginning of the quarter you plan to graduate. To file your petition go to Oasis, click "forms and petitions" click submit a new form, click minor declaration, fil out information, note any classes that overlap with your major or other circumstances in the comments, if necessary upload any documents, and submit!

All core courses have to be completed with a letter grade with the exception of SPH 190 (P/NP grade option). Elective courses can be taken for a letter grade or P/NP. Only one lower division course can be used. Please see any university restrictions related to P/NP grading: P/NP or S/U Grading | Office of the University Registrar (OUR) (ucdavis.edu) .  

Minor Petiton Deadlines

The deadline to petition for the minor is the same as the deadline to file for graduation. To view the graduation calendar please visit: https://registrar.ucdavis.edu/graduate

Please note: The processing time for minor forms submitted online to the Public Health Sciences Advising team is a minimum of 3-5 business days.

If you submit an online petition form and then need to make a change, please resubmit a revised minor petition to make the change official. This is required!

Degree Checks

You should be in contact with your major advisor for a periodic check of your major requirements.  You and your major advisor will check to see that all major requirements have or will be completed by your intended graduation quarter.  Visit your College Dean’s Office for general education requirements and graduation checks.
