Applications are developed and submitted by July 31st of PGY2. Selection of Global Mental Health track residents will be announced by September 1st of the same year.

Application requirements

To apply to for the Global Mental Health track, prepare the following materials:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Statement of purpose, please answer the following questions (recommended length is 2-3 pages)” and add the following questions:
  1. Briefly describe your interests in the PGY2 GMH track
  2. What is your motivation for pursuing your interest in GMH now?
  3. Briefly describe any prior GMH experience or training.
  4. List your goals for the PGY2 GMH track
  5. Describe your current plan for mentorship.
  6. If you plan a field experience during your PGY2, please describe.
  7. Describe any anticipated challenges in meeting the requirements of GMH track.
  • Letter of commitment from your primary mentor outlining frequency of meetings and contribution of any resources to the project or training activities. If the primary mentor is outside the department of psychiatry, a secondary mentor in psychiatry is required.
