Residents should apply by April 1 of the year in which they wish to begin participation in the Global Mental Health track (e.g., residents who wish to start the track in their PGY2 year should apply by April or their PGY1 year). Residents who are considering applying for the GMH track are encouraged to contact Ladson Hinton, M.D., who directs the GMH Program prior to applying.

Application Requirements

The application for the GMH track should be 2-3 pages in length and including the following:

  • Describe your reason for applying for the GMH track
  • Describe any prior GMH experiences
  • List your goals for the year
  • Describe the nature of your scholarly project and any fieldwork that is planned
  • Describe plan for mentorship
