Philosophy of Care

Dr. Sageshima believes that "transplantation" requires teamwork among multidisciplinary team members, and a patient and family members are the most important part of the transplant team.

As a transplant surgeon, he aims to provide more opportunities and better outcomes to patients with end-stage organ disease by optimizing organ recovery, preservation, transplant surgery and pre-/post-surgery management.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Sageshima is a transplant surgeon offering care for patients with end-stage organ disease. He has special clinical interest and expertise in adult and pediatric kidney and pancreas transplantation, organ recovery and preservation, live donor surgery, and vascular and peritoneal access surgery.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Sageshima’s research focuses on improving the transplant outcomes, especially through new methods of organ recovery, preservation, and transplantation. He also has interest in clinical and translational transplant research.
