Gary came to CHPR in September 2013, working on a PCORI project as the standardized patient trainer and supervisor. His extensive background in performing arts, film and television, coupled with his management and communication capabilities give him a unique skill set that is ideal for coordinating and supervising Standardized Patient programs. Gary has been the research coordinator on multiple projects requiring extensive patient and physician recruitment. Other projects have required him to edit video recordings, interview patient and providers, both on and off-camera, and manage data and IRB protocols (including the successful management of an IRB audit).

Education

Gary’s post-secondary education includes two years at the University of Pittsburgh, performance based studies at the Pittsburgh Playhouse School for the Theatre, and American River College in Sacramento. He also trained at the Integrative Therapy School in Sacramento, studying physiology and body mechanics.
