Adrienne Hoyt-Austin, D.O., has been awarded the 2021 Clinical Fellow Professionalism Award from the UC Davis School of Medicine Alumni Association. Dr. Hoyt-Austin is a postdoctoral fellow in the Quality, Safety, and Comparative Effectiveness Research Training in Primary Care (QSCERT-PC) program at the UC Davis Center for Healthcare Policy and Research (CHPR) and will receive her Master’s degree in Advanced Studies in Clinical Research from the UC Davis School of Medicine (SOM) later this month.
The Clinical Fellow Professionalism Award, established in 2008, recognizes and honors medical fellows who best exemplify true professionalism in their work, demonstrating all the qualities of a true and outstanding professional as defined by the American Board of Internal Medicine – altruism, courtesy, accountability, empathy, respect, compassion – in their day-to-day work with faculty, patients, co-workers and ancillary staff. Residency and fellowship directors and department chairs at UC Davis Health submit nominations for the annual award to the SOM Alumni Association Board of Directors each spring.
Serena Yang, M.D., M.P.H., Chief of General Pediatrics at UC Davis Health said “Dr. Hoyt-Austin has demonstrated empathy, respect for her patients and colleagues, and is more than deserving of this award.” Laura Kair, M.D., added that “she is thoughtful and collaborative and embodies the qualities of integrity, generosity, and diligence, and she is going to be an outstanding faculty pediatrician after completion of her fellowship.”
Congratulations, Dr. Hoyt-Austin!
