Through this engaging course, which incorporates case studies and clinical support tools within Epic, learners identify gaps in practice and how to apply a valuable new insulin order-set. Participants will also learn the most recent standards of care published by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) on inpatient diabetes/hyperglycemia management and how to apply them in practice, in addition to being provided with adjunct support materials such as pocket reference guides.

Human Trafficking — Training for Healthcare Providers

This one-hour course is designed for health care providers who want to learn more about human trafficking, which involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. At the end of the course, learners will be able to describe trauma-informed care, identify five red flags and/or risk factors for human trafficking, identify two conversation starters to discuss human trafficking with patients, and access resources when trafficking  is suspected.

UC Davis Health’s Regional Affiliations and Outreach department, in collaboration with UC Davis Children’s Hospital and the Office of Continuing Medical Education, offers the Pediatric Acute Care Education Sessions (PACES) program for community clinicians who provide care to children.

Race and Medicine in Clinical Practice

During this course, clinicians will learn how to define race, racism and anti-racism, distinguish race as a social construct, and identify methods of practicing anti-racism in medicine.

Acute Seizure Management

Improve care of patients with active seizures using a standardized guideline based on evidence-based science. The goal of the course is to increase the comfort level of healthcare teams managing patients with seizures or suspected seizures, and to optimize the interdisciplinary teamwork required to provide effective patient care.

UC Davis Precision Interprofessional Neurologic Educational Learning  (PINECLE) Program

The UC Davis PINECLE Program combines teaching at a patient's bedside, simulation education, and online educational videos and modules to teach learners how to conduct a neurological examination, with a particular focus on stroke patients. UC Quits

The purpose of these courses is to provide training on evidence-based tobacco treatment for clinical providers and staff with eight modules to accommodate learner needs and maximize flexibility. These on-demand courses are presented by University of California faculty with over twenty years in experience in tobacco research and integration of tobacco treatments in health care settings.

The UC Davis Health Office of Continuing Medical Education is pleased to partner with Graduate Medical Education (GME) to develop a series of on-demand coursework to support clinicians preparing to transition from residency to practice. The following coursework is available to UC Davis Health professionals through the UC Learning Center.

This series of complimentary courses is aimed at helping learners be aware of the importance of radiation safety as it relates to fluoroscopy practice, as well as help reduce radiation exposure to both patients and operating room personnel during procedures.
