Early Career Faculty Leadership Development Program

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Early Career Faculty Leadership Development Program, designed to support assistant professors and recently promoted associate professors as they begin to take on leadership roles across research, education, clinical care, and institutional service.

The inaugural cohort will be represented by participants from basic sciences, medical sciences, surgical sciences, and members of the Health Sciences Educators' Academy for Learning (HEAL) that hold the rank of Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor (promoted in the last two years), and have demonstrated interest or early experience in leadership.

Program Information

This interactive, 8-session program focuses on:

  • Foundational leadership skills in academic medicine
  • Navigating academic and institutional structures
  • Developing a personal leadership identity

Beginning Sept. 1, 2026, with an in-person gathering the week prior, a mix of 90-minute and compressed 60-minute sessions will be held via Zoom from 5:15-6:45 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.

  • Emerging Leaders Collective (ELC)

    The Emerging Leaders Collective (ELC), formerly Leadership Transition Advisory Committee (LTAC), is designed to provide vital information for new leaders at UC Davis Health while also serving as a networking and mentorship opportunity.
