Executive coaching is provided through the Faculty Development office by a Certified Physician Development Coach, Dr. Terri Malcolm. Dr. Malcolm has served in executive positions and her clinical background is as a board-certified OBGYN. Her coaching philosophy, the Malcolm Method, is rooted in positive psychology, strengths-based leadership, and social and emotional intelligence. Through a thought-provoking process, Dr. Malcolm helps the leader gain clarity about their strengths, and with this knowledge, experiment and innovate to test limiting beliefs and boundaries hindering progress.

What does the typical coaching process look like?
Executive coaching usually involves a series of phases, starting with intake, assessment, goal setting, and development planning. The typical duration of a coaching engagement is two to 10 months, depending on when the development goals are achieved, or when the Coach or client decides that it should stop.
Where does executive coaching happen?
Coaching sessions occur virtually via video chat or over the phone.
What is the level of confidentiality of executive coaching?
Conversations between Dr. Malcolm and the individual are completely confidential.
