On October 22, 2025, UC Davis Health successfully launched the Health Sciences Educators' Academy for Learners (HEAL) with a well-attended event on the Sacramento campus. The program opened with welcome remarks and an introduction to HEAL’s vision and mission, highlighting its commitment to advancing excellence in health sciences education. Attendees then heard an engaging and thought-provoking keynote from Diana McNeill, M.D., Associate Dean at Duke AHEAD, who shared national perspectives on faculty development and the evolving landscape of academic medicine. The event concluded with a networking session, providing faculty the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and begin building a strong community of educators. The launch marked an exciting step forward in supporting UC Davis Health faculty with the tools, community, and resources needed to enhance teaching, foster innovation, and improve learner and patient outcomes.
