Guralnick has oversight over all UC Davis Health ACGME-accredited and non-ACGME-accredited graduate medical education (GME) programs. As Associate Dean for GME, Guralnick is responsible for ensuring that Residents and Fellows gain the knowledge, skills, and values required for competent and compassionate clinical practice, scholarly research, and public service. To achieve this goal, Guralnick works with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure institutional compliance with program accreditation, provide Residents and Fellows with a safe and inclusive clinical learning environment, support for Resident/fellow wellness, and support for program leadership.

Salcedo works with the Associate Dean for GME in oversight of UC Davis Health Surgical Specialty Residency and Fellowship programs. Guralnick helps to ensure that Residents and Fellows achieve the education required for competent clinical practice, scholarship, and service to their patients. Salcedo works with the surgical departments and their learners to ensure compliance with surgical program accreditation standards, support Residents and Fellows by providing a safe and inclusive clinical learning environment, support for Resident/Fellow wellness, and support for surgical program leadership.

Ryan Traynham is the principal administrative leader for the Office of Graduate Medical Education. His primary responsibilities are to implement the vision set forth by the Designated Institutional Officer, ensure UC Davis Health adheres to ACGME accreditation standards and oversee the employment status of the UC Davis Housestaff.

UC Davis Health Residents and Clinical Fellows have counseling services available through the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP). Psychologists at ASAP, Uma Anand, Ph.D., and Sheetal Shah, Ph.D., provide services that are designed specifically to support the unique needs of individuals in training. Please reach out to the ASAP at 916-734-2727 to schedule an appointment with doctors Anand and Shah. ASAP also has additional clinicians available to ensure trainees receive timely access to services.
