UC Davis Medical Center provides a supportive and challenging educational environment within which residents and clinical Fellows from diverse backgrounds can prepare themselves for careers characterized by a commitment to excellence in service to others through patient care, research, teaching, and lifelong learning. Faculty offer residents and clinical fellows the opportunity to participate in the delivery of leading-edge care, exposure to state-of-the-art facilities, and provide mentorship in the delivery of safe, compassionate and ethical care.
The Graduate Medical Education (GME) program is designed to provide residents and clinical fellows with the knowledge, skills, and values that build a strong foundation for competent and compassionate clinical practice, scholarly research, and public service. Residents and clinical fellows are encouraged to develop the capacity for self-evaluation and moral reflection. UC Davis Health GME is committed to ensuring that our residents and clinical fellows develop a sound understanding of the science of medicine, apply that knowledge to clinical practice, and extend that knowledge through scholarly research.
UC Davis Health GME statistics:
While each residency and fellowship program is designed to meet the unique requirements of the clinical specialty, UC Davis Medical Center is responsible for ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all residents and clinical fellows based on the ACGME’s Training Requirements. The Graduate Medical Committee (GMEC) establishes educational policy, monitors resident working conditions (including salaries and duty hours), conducts internal reviews of each program, develops cross-residency educational programs, and advocates for residents and clinical fellows. Additionally, the GMEC ensures that each graduate medical education program meets or exceeds all institutional and program requirements promulgated by the ACGME and its individual Residency Review Committees.
Thank you for your interest in the residency and fellowship programs of UC Davis Medical Center.
