48X nurse turns a routine discharge into a moment of care

48X PACU Nurse Aaron Allen

Recent patient Paul Noreen had an overall exceptional surgical experience at 48X, UC Davis Health's outpatient surgery center. But one aspect of his care especially stood out: a few extra minutes of patience.

Here's what he shared:

“I was at 48X for surgery. It was a phenomenal experience. I can’t think of one person that didn’t treat me well. It was just incredible. I was so impressed by the service I got. Aaron, my nurse, was phenomenal. He stayed with me — I think he stayed later than he was supposed to because it took me longer to get discharged. The surgery was just so wonderful!”

What may have been a small delay turned into a big comfort when PACU nurse Aaron Allen simply stuck around.

"Reading Paul’s experience makes me happy to be part of such an effective team," said Allen. "I find great joy and fulfillment being able to provide quality care and bring patients comfort in their time of need."
