National Advanced Practice Provider Week begins Sept. 25

(SACRAMENTO)

Running from September 25-29, National APP Week is an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about our advanced practice team. Advanced practice providers are providers who are certified and licensed to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage illnesses, prescribe medications, perform clinical procedures, and conduct clinical research in management of the whole individual, for example, physicians assistants and certified nurse midwives.

As a participating organization, UC Davis Health will host a series of events for our advanced practice providers, employees, and the community. The Patient Care Services team invites you to attend a National APP Week activity:

  • Monday, September 25, 7 a.m. - Wellness Walk with our APP wellness ambassador, Maureen Craig. Meet at the main entrance of the hospital.
  • Tuesday, September 26, 4:30-7:30 p.m., North Addition Auditorium - UC Davis APP Symposium: Creating Value in Advanced Practice. A dynamic lineup of speakers will provide an update on measuring value in advanced practice. Registration required.
  • Wednesday, September 27, 4 p.m., Webex - The Path to Advanced Practice: How to Become a CNS, CRNA, PA or NP. Led by our Advanced Practice mentorship committee, this virtual session features speakers with advice on how to become an advanced practice provider.

Over the last year, UC Davis Health has made incredible progress elevating advanced practice roles and team-based care, expanding educational opportunities, and deeply connecting advanced practice to our mission and principles of community. Accomplishments include:
