Starting Monday, Nov. 17 and continuing until Saturday, Dec. 6, the Central Utility Plant expansion team will be performing overnight underground utility work at the intersection of 45th and X streets between 6 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.
X Street will transition into a single lane as traffic approaches the intersection at 45th Street. The southernmost lane on X Street will be closed and traffic will be redirected to merge into the northernmost lane.
The southern portion of the intersection will be closed during the overnight work hours.
What else to expect:
There will be no access to 45th St. via X St. during the closure
Eastbound X St. traffic will be maintained
Cancer Center access via X St. and 45th St. will remain open
45th St. will remain accessible via 2nd Ave., but 45th St. will be closed north of Y St., and traffic will be rerouted west down Y St. to Stockton Blvd.
The 45thand X St. shuttle stop will be temporarily relocated to 45thand Y St.
The crosswalk on the eastside of the 45th and X St. intersection will remain open
Please note, work will pause in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, from Thursday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 30.
