Daughter of UC Davis Health administrator participates in Junior Olympics

Sacramento hosted the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics, an event extra special for one UC Davis Health employee.
UC Davis Health Chief Administrative Officer Racheal McGaha’s daughter Reagan qualified to compete in this year’s event held from July 25-31.

Reagan, 11, ran in both the 100- and 200-meter events in the 11/12 age group category. She qualified for the 400-meter as well but chose to concentrate on her preferred events.
McGaha said Reagan's personal record in the 100 is 12.85 seconds and her personal record in the 200 is 25.56 seconds. She went into this year’s USATF Junior Olympics ranked fourth in the nation in both races.
This year marked the second time Reagan qualified for the Junior Olympics.
“Her first time at the Junior Olympics was back in 2019 when she was just 8 years old,” McGaha said. “Unfortunately, we had two years off due to Covid, and 2022 was our first full season back. We are excited to support her this year. This is the perfect culmination to a great season.”
McGaha said that though Reagan didn’t beat her PR, she still ended up placing in the top 11 in the nation for her age group at the event after no competitions for two years due to Covid-19.
