New Bright Path transitional kindergarten coming onsite

Less than a 10-minute drive from UC Davis Medical Center

(SACRAMENTO)

This fall will be the two-year anniversary of launching the UC Davis employer-sponsored Child Development Center – a partnership with SMUD and Sacramento State University. The center anticipates reaching full enrollment this academic year because of the new Transitional Kindergarten coming onsite. This transitional option will allow children already at the center the opportunity to remain at the same place they love for another year, which also provides ease and comfort to parents – the feeling of stability during our hectic days.

Understandably, childcare is a personal and complicated decision. However, several UC Davis Health employees have expressed their gratitude about the child development center. Below are a couple of quotes staff provided when completing Bright Path’s annual anonymous family satisfaction survey (June 2023):

“My daughter needs more than the standard care and attention because of a medical condition, and the teachers and staff have met our asks head on and have felt like true allies/supporters. I couldn't be more grateful for them and feel so lucky for my daughter to be in their care.”

“I am delighted with my family's experience at Bright Path. The teachers are knowledgeable and caring, the curriculum is engaging and educational, and the emphasis on socialization has benefited my child. I would recommend the center to families seeking high-quality childcare and early childhood education.”

In the survey, 52 respondents reported:

  • 94% overall satisfaction with the care and education their children receive.
  • 89% satisfaction with the skills and knowledge their child receives to help them succeed in school.
  • 93% satisfaction with health and safety measures.
  • 93% satisfaction with the comprehensive developmental experiences provided to their kid(s).
  • 88% impacts ability as an employee to work necessary hours.
  • 86% impacts ability as an employee to concentrate on the job to be productive.

The center also boasts an extremely low teacher-turnover rate, which can be a major indicator of programming success. Bright Path offers two, three, and five-day care options, plus they have a daily drop-in care option – if space or teacher ratio is available that day – for those topsy-turvy summer days when your regular childcare may be disrupted.
