Employee excellence illuminated at award ceremony in the Chancellor’s residence

The Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards ceremony celebrated the remarkable dedication and achievements of twelve staff employees that make UC Davis and UC Davis Health a better place to work, learn and receive care. Held at Chancellor Gary May's residence on Monday, April 29, the event was a testament to their invaluable contributions.

Opening the ceremony, Chancellor May expressed gratitude, stating, “It’s a privilege to recognize these winners… [They] completely embody the spirit of UC Davis, where we reach great heights in all our endeavors. Every aspect of our mission at UC Davis depends on collaboration. At times, the work of our staff happens behind the scenes, but our operation could not succeed without the effort of so many people who excel across our campuses.”

As the recipients took the stage for commemorative photos with Chancellor May, David Lubarsky (UC Davis Health Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chancellor for Health and Human Science) and Clare Shinnerl (Vice Chancellor of Finance, Operations and Administration), speakers Tammy Kenber (Chief Human Resources of Officer) and Amy Murphy (Interim Executive Director of Human Resources for UC Davis Health) spoke of their exceptional accomplishments.

The evening concluded with a gathering in the Courtyard, where attendees mingled over refreshments against the backdrop of the setting sun.

Thanks to the outstanding achievement of the awardees, and anticipating another year of progress and excellence, the future looks bright for next year’s ceremony.
