EVS’s Anthony Lerma receives POP Award

(SACRAMENTO)

Last week, Chief Experience Officer Jennifer Baron, Associate Chief Operating Officer Kimberly (Kimmie) Bleichner-Jones, and Director of Environmental Services, Amy Panoushek, presented a Point of Pride (POP) Award to Anthony Lerma, senior Environmental Services employee.

EVS’s Anthony Lerma receives POP Award

The POP Award recognizes that every day, countless actions of empathy and kindness – large and small – take place across our health system. The nomination included a story about the professionalism and kindness that Lerma showed to a patient’s family:

“The Patient Relations office received a request to meet with an upset family on Tower 4.  When a Patient Relations Professional arrived to the room to speak with the family, Environmental Services Technician Anthony Lerma was performing a discharge cleaning for Bed 01.

The Patient Relations Professional stated, ‘It was an absolute pleasure to watch Anthony Lerma both clean and interact with the family.’ Mr. Lerma was incredibly attentive to his duties while recognizing the family was in some level of distress.  Mr. Lerma was compassionate and professional during his interaction with the family. The mother of the child was asking several questions about cleanliness. Mr. Lerma answered all of her questions thoroughly and with confidence, as this was his area of expertise.

I appreciate Anthony Lerma for his attention to detail, diligence, compassion, and the level of professionalism he exhibits at all times. I am honored and grateful to have Mr. Lerma as part of our EVS Team.”

Congratulations to our POP Award winner, Anthony Lerma!
