'Finding Community in Self-Compassion Practices' workshop held Jan. 14
As part of the UC Presidential Funding initiative to address antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of bias and discrimination, the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) is hosting a series of workshops to support UC Davis employees and staff.
Their next workshop, led by Dr. Luana Coloma Cook, will focus on the transformative power of self-compassion. While self-compassion is sometimes misunderstood as selfish or self-indulgent, it is, in fact, a practice that fosters deeper care for oneself. When applied appropriately, self-compassion can enhance our sense of belonging and connection to others, creating stronger, more inclusive communities.
This in-person gathering offers a welcoming space to explore these practices and connect with colleagues.
