March 18 events celebrate Health Workforce Well-being Day
All members of the UC Davis Health community are welcome to join
UC Davis Health champions will come together on March 18 to celebrate and recognize the vital contributions of health workers and discuss solutions to reduce burnout and protect worker well-being.
Several events – such as in-person “mindful walks,” a meditation session, and a mental health and well-being resources table – will take place throughout the day.
Please note: Some events are happening at the same time, but at different locations, to better meet the needs of staff at multiple sites.

March 18 Health Workforce Well-being Day schedule:
Support U Peer Responder Program Resource Table
Learn more about the UC Davis Health Support U Peer Responder Program. Visitors to the table will also receive a cafeteria voucher.
Time: 6 a.m. – 7 a.m.
Location: Main employee entrance to the ER/hospital
Guided Meditation
Start your day with a brief relaxing and centering meditation led by Dr. Michelle Dossett.
Time: 7:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.

Mental Health and Well-being Resources Table
Learn more about mental health and well-being resources available to you at UC Davis Health. Visitors to the table will also receive a cafeteria voucher.

Cultivating Self-Compassion
During this in-person gathering, Dr. Luana Coloma Cook will lead a 90-minute talk and restorative practice session, providing tools to cultivate self-kindness, emotional resilience, and deeper connection to others.
Time: noon – 2 p.m.

Walk the Campus
Take a 30-minute walk with Dr. Katren Tyler around campus with colleagues to refresh and recharge. Wear comfortable shoes.
Time: 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Location: Start and end on the Vanderhoef Lawn (lawn outside of Betty Irene Moore Hall School of Nursing)

Mindful Walk at Midtown Clinic
Enjoy a movement break with this 30-minute mindful walk led by Dr. Lisa Ho.
Time: 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Location: Meet in the Midtown Central Lobby in front of Suite 1400

Zumba
Take a short break before lunch with an easy and fun exercise. You can do it in front of your computer in your office, or at home. No need to change clothes. Led by Dr. Noriko Satake.

Improv Workshop and Games
Try your hand at this fun improv workshop led by Dr. Sara Aghamohammadi to bolster communication and listening skills. This workshop is limited to 20 participants.

Proactive Resilience – Managing Acute Stress
In this interactive online session, Dr. Anjuli Amin will present evidence-based strategies to help health care professionals manage acute stress using a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework.
