New vendor for Language Access Services: Propio

Five years ago, UC Davis Health providers and patients started utilizing language access services via Martti. With technological advances, UC Davis Health has explored different language service options.
UC Davis Health received approval to work with a new vendor, Propio, through the University of California bidding process. The “go live” date for Martti cart removal and Propio cart placement was March 31.
UC Davis Health staff and vendor interpreters provide more than 200,000 patient care sessions annually in over 100 languages. Demand for interpreting services has increased 20 percent in the last eight months.
What you need to know about switching to Propio
- Martti carts on wheels will be replaced with Propio One carts between March 31 and April 11.
- The Martti app on UC Davis Health-issued iPads will be replaced with the Propio One app.
- There will be one extra step when using the Propio app on the UC Davis Health-issued iPads – users will need to select a location where they are calling from.
- Martti will continue to be available during the transition until all carts are replaced and Propio apps are added.
