Larisa Kure

Larisa Kure is the executive assistant dean for administration and finance in the School of Medicine, Office of the Dean. She received her master’s degree in public administration, with an emphasis on management in public institutions, from The George Washington University in 1999. Kure joined the SOM in 2020 and is the chief operating, fiscal, strategic, business, and administrative officer for the SOM and its departments, centers and institutes. As a key strategic partner to the dean, Kure oversees and leads the planning and achievement of major initiatives in budget development and implementation, fiscal and business operations, physical resources management, information technology, research administration policy formulation, and organizational development.

Kure is also responsible for final review of all faculty recruitments, including leading high-level recruitments for department chairs, center directors, and associate deans. As a leader at the SOM, Kure sits on numerous campus and schoolwide committees, including the HR Advisory Committee, Financial Systems Advisory Committee and the Workplace Reimagined Working Group.

As executive assistant dean, Kure is focused on creating a culture where students, faculty, residents, and staff are valued and supported as important stakeholders of the community. Kure is dedicated to advancing initiatives that further the mission and values of the school and enable SOM to invest in the future of its students, residents, staff and faculty.
