Gurmeet “Roy” Rai, M.B.A.
Assistant Dean for Medical Education
Gurmeet “Roy” Rai, M.B.A., is the Assistant Dean for Medical Education at the UC Davis School of Medicine. He oversees all administrative aspects of the medical education programs, including outreach/pipeline programs, Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME), the body donor program, the Center for a Diverse Healthcare Workforce, and the Office of Student & Resident Diversity (OSRD).
Rai began his career at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center in Boston, and has been a member of the UC Davis community since 2004. His education background includes a Bachelor of Arts in management and a Master of Business Administration in accounting.
Rai is passionate about promoting excellence through diversity, holistic admissions, and comprehensive support services. In turn, these programs develop students into great future physicians, and address health care disparities in medically underserved communities.
