Brooke Banks, Ph.D., is the Chief of Staff in the UC Davis School of Medicine, Office of the Dean. Her role includes special projects, strategic initiatives and planning, executive recruitment and onboarding, and personnel management, among other responsibilities. Prior to this position, she was Chief of Staff to UC Davis Health’s Chief Information and Chief Digital Health Officer. In that role, she led planning efforts, including the implementation of the objectives and key results framework to align IT efforts with organization-wide strategies and ensure accountability.
Banks joined UC Davis Health in 2022 with over 20 years of experience in higher education administration and leadership. She held several leadership roles at California State University, Chico, including Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, where she worked on many impactful strategic and cross-organization initiatives. She also served as the Associate Vice Provost of Information Resources and the Information Security Officer. In those roles, she was responsible for leading technical and non-technical teams, strategic and integrated planning and implementation, project portfolio management, business process and policy analysis, service management, and communication and budget management.
Banks holds a Ph.D. in technology management with an emphasis in human resource development from Indiana State University, and an M.B.A. and a bachelor’s degree in instructional technology from California State University, Chico.
