We offer several innovative pre-med pathway programs. Our programs are designed to actively recruit and foster the development of a diverse workforce that reflects California’s communities, advances health equity and improves lives.
The UC Davis School of Medicine Postbaccalaureate program is a one-year program designed to help educationally and/or socio-economically disadvantaged students become more competitive applicants to medical school.
Through our MCAT Preparatory Scholarship program, we offer scholarships for an MCAT Preparatory Course. Applicants may be current students or alumni within the California State University or University of California systems.
Our Medical School Preparatory Enhancement program increases opportunities for socio-economically and educationally disadvantaged students from local universities to pursue careers in medicine.
A pre-med pathway program for community college students, AvenueM is helping to address the shortage of primary care physicians in California’s rural, medically underrepresented areas.
The Prep Médico program is working to build the next generation of physicians committed to advancing Latino health and is striving to help close the gap that exists between the number of Latino patients and doctors in California.
The Health Equity Academy provides opportunities for K-12 students to develop and sustain an interest in medicine and science while promoting early college preparation and readiness. The program offers a free “mini medical school” for socio-economically disadvantaged high school students.
