The UC Davis California Alzheimer's Disease Center of Excellence offers a variety of other classes, including in-person classes for newly diagnosed patients and caregivers to share knowledge on types of dementia, stages, treatment, and next steps for planning.
In conjunction with the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, we also offer a 4-5 part series available virtually called ‘Caregiver Bootcamp’ where we address various topics of interest to caregivers and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The course is typically offered in the fall and spring every year.
A series designed to engage and educate the community on topics related to maintaining a healthy brain as we age.
This class covers the basics of DBS surgery and therapy. Attendees will learn about the evaluation process for potential candidates, the benefits and risks of surgery, what to expect the day of surgery, and the post-surgical recovery process. We will briefly review DBS stimulator programming.
