    Aliza P. Wingo, M.D., M.S.

Aliza Wingo, M.D., M.S., is a Professor of Psychiatry at UC Davis and board-certified psychiatrist. She received her medical degree and post graduate training at Emory University School of Medicine, including a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Wingo’s research focuses on understanding the link between psychiatric disorders and dementia and the underlying causes of dementia severity, especially behavioral and psychological symptoms that occur in dementia. Her other interests include investigating mechanisms underlying depression, PTSD, and psychological resilience, as well as their roles in dementia risk. Her aim is to uncover disease mechanisms that will pave the way for new treatments, and she sees the need for new treatments first hand as a practicing psychiatrist at the Northern California VA where she sees Veterans.
