Philosophy of Care
It is a privilege to partner with my patients and to work together towards shared goals of optimizing health, healing and quality of life. As an osteopathic neurologist, I am trained to provide personalized care that addresses the whole person.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Akers is a general neurologist offering care for patients with a broad range of neurologic conditions. She has special clinical interest in integrative approaches to management of headache and post-concussive syndrome, and specializes in the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) in the care of her patients.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Akers's research interests include applications of osteopathic manipulative medicine to the care of patients with neurologic conditions.
Dr. Akers also has a strong interest in physician and medical trainee wellness.
