Angelina is an amazing person and an exceptional nurse. The kindness, patience, and attention to detail are the traits that make patients and colleague’s notice. Here in Dermatology the iPledge program which manages the risk of Accutane; a medication used to treat acne had launched an update that had significantly impacted our physicians, patients, staff and many nationwide, cause more than 8 hours of hold time. Angelina had taken it upon herself to reach out to the physicians, send and email and a YouTube link on how to re-establish membership with the iPledge system. She answered many messages of patients with kindness and was keen to be aware of when labs need to be drawn to initiate start dates of medication during the holidays. While the system had caused a huge burden on many- she went through and reminded physicians to add her to be a designee so she could get patients signed up and authorized to use the medications. So often we count on the internet and websites to work correctly, but when they go down people do not notice when we need to back track to ensure that they continue to qualify using the medications. Angelina worked tirelessly and stayed late as a commitment to her patients and her position. We all too often silently appreciate her for all that she does for this department. She truly deserves this award.
