I have worked alongside Alina Toma on Tower 4 as a resident physician for the last four years and have witnessed her superb care for her patients by consistently advocating for their needs and appropriately recognizing and making our team aware of important clinical findings or care needs that lead to timely care and earlier discharges. She is incredibly compassionate and goes above and beyond to make patients that are often going through some of the most challenges moments in their lives, feel comfortable and cared for.

I personally witnessed such care when I was hospitalized on Tower 4 for two days and had her as my nurse. I felt vulnerable being a patient on my own floor that I have taken care of countless patients on. However, she made me feel taken care of each step of the way and she advocated for me more than I thought was possible in getting the best care that I could when issues arose. I can't thank her enough for her compassionate care and her fearless attitude to always do what is right.
