Jason always goes above and beyond for patients in ways that most people would never even think of. We had a confused patient on the floor who was very agitated and aggressive towards his care team, but Jason was always brave enough to befriend him and learn how to therapeutically communicate with this patient. He has gone out of his way to ensure this patient’s needs were being met, including buying things with his own money to give this patient the best care he could give. Whenever anyone was struggling with handling this patient due to his combativeness, Jason always offered to step in and help. He has never shown any fear and has worked so hard to establish a rapport with this patient and so many others. Jason has also come in on his days off to help with additional hygiene needs of this particular patient, like brushing his teeth and washing his face (things that he would only let Jason do). He is a standout nurse who is always humble. His compassion and kindness brings a smile to everyone’s faces; coworkers, patients, and patients’ families.
