Nomination: Since the very first time she was assigned to my brother's care here at UCD, she has been absolutely outstanding. She is ALWAYS attentive to my brother's needs and makes him feel cared for and welcomed. Members of my family have been here for the entire 12-hour visiting period and have seen her at work. Not only is she kind and caring with my brother, but she has also treated us with the same kindness and concern. My brother's condition is extremely rare and she has really demonstrated concern and has gone above and beyond to ensure his needs are met. During this incredibly stressful and uncertain time, Dhivya has been so calm, thoughtful, and caring. We have requested her as often as possible. She's most certainly deserving of this award. We love and appreciate her.

Nomination: My family is currently admitted to East 3 Adult Acute. We have had Dhivya as a nurse multiple times throughout his stay and she has always been exceptional. She is gentle with him and also thorough not only clinically but in explaining to him and the family everything that she is doing and the plans for each day. She has shown great compassion through it all and especially during the hard times. She is always welcoming to the family when we come to see him. Overall His care has been wonderful and even so she stands out above it all.

Nomination: I have been admitted since 8/22 and have had exceptional care while I have been here the care has been exceptional and Dhivya stands out above everyone. She is compassionate and knowledgeable of my case at all times. She is quick to answer the calls and always lets me know about the plans for the day.

Nomination: My brother has been here for 30 days now. Throughout his time here, many nurses have been assigned to his care. Out of all of the nurses that he has had, Divya has by far been the best! She is an exemplary role model for other nurses. She has consistently demonstrated a confident skill set which has made my brother calm and comfortable. Beyond her excellent skill set, is her genuine compassion, kindness and angelic bed side manor. Not only has she consistently raised my brother’s spirit, but she has also been a shining light to the family! It has been comforting to us to have such an outstanding nurse like Divya- we have made her family!

Nomination: Dhivya, you are undeniably a beautiful person, in and out. You shine at all that is asked of you. A difficult situation was made absolutely wonderful. Your knowledge of medicine shows in your ability to handle all situations, from vitals, to wound care, to managing patient-doctor communication. Your capabilities are completely apparent, especially when there is difficult communication between patients, staff and doctors. I felt completely cared for, due to Dhivya’s excellent nursing skills. As a person, and a nurse, she is loved and respected. And always a smile and positive attitude. You undeniably deserve this recognition!
Nomination: 2024 was a medically exhausting year. I spent a lot of time being cared for by several different nurses. However the standout was Dhivya Valluvan. She set the bar for patient care that went beyond giving injections, taking countless vitals, and making sure that all my medical needs were met. She was calm, cheerful, efficient, and most importantly, she had my back, when I unfortunately had a misunderstanding with a student doctor. Dhivya assessed the situation, listened to what I was trying to communicate to this doctor. She didn’t take sides, but did make sure I was heard. I was very impressed with her handling of difficult patients. She made sure they were safe, asked where they were headed, and got them to a comfortable place. I saw a person who took that extra step, to ensure the patient's needs were being met. A wonderful nurse, who deserves a pat on the back, and more!
