3rd Nominator: Rose Miranda-Ponce
Devon Trower has been one of the most sincere and genuine leaders I have had the pleasure of working with during my 18-year career. She has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and dedication to her profession and team over the last 5 years in Adult Infusion. She has consistently gone above and beyond to support our staff, but this dedication has been even more pronounced of late. She has had multiple changes to the workflows and demands on our unit and she consistently chooses to press forward with grace. She leads by example and has inspired out team to navigate the many challenges and changes we have faced with compassion and understanding. One of her most notable qualities is her willingness to advocate for work/life balance, teamwork and sustainable expectations for our team. She is one who doesn’t just talk about putting in 100% effort, but she exemplifies it in her actions and her efforts to find the silver lining and remain positive during time of change. She holds herself accountable for all that she says and does and is humble enough to admit when she makes a mistake or is wrong about something. She fosters an environment of growth and trust and strives to be transparent to the extent possible. She empowers staff to be autonomous and encourages their personal and professional growth. She embodies all that a leader should be and I hope that others see her light shine as bright as I do.
4th Nominator: Lan Ngo
Devon is an exceptional leaders that leads not only from a place of experience but also from a place of extraordinary compassion. The type of leadership that best describes Devon is servant leadership, in which Devon truly and authentically cares for the growth and well-being of people and communities she serves. An example of this is she strives to create an inclusive work environment in hopes to promote staff engagement so that staff could be a part of the decision making process at Adult Infusion. This is different from the traditional leadership that we often see in big organizations, which sets her apart from so many others. I leave you with this quote as is best describes Devon: “leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, and ignited by a purpose.” – Myles Munroe
