All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Details of the NRMP requirements can be found in the NRMP Handbook for U.S. Medical Students. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, in the order in which they are received. All applications for our program must be submitted to ERAS by October 1, 2019, in order to be considered for the positions available for the 2020/2021 academic year.
We only accept Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications. Contact the Office of Student Affairs at your school for instructions on how to apply using ERAS. Make sure you include a one-page personal statement. Do not be modest. If you believe you have done exceptional things or have an interesting background, tell us!

- Three (3) Letters of recommendation from faculty sponsors
- Your medical school transcript
- USMLE Step 1 score (required)
- USMLE Step 2 and CS scores (required prior to February 1, 2020)
All applications are screened by the Department of Pediatrics' Selection Committee
All applicants will be notified promptly by contacting ERAS as to when their application was received in the Residency Recruitment Office. In most situations, the Dean’s letter must be reviewed before an interview offer will be made. Typically, interview invitations are sent through ERAS in early October.
The Department of Pediatrics conducts Interview Days from approximately 7:30am to 3:00pm. The Interview Day provides an overview of the residency program, tours of the hospital, lunch with members of the department, and individual interviews with faculty members and residents.
If you receive an invitation to interview with us, please consider attending our Social Nights where you can meet our residents in an informal setting! The nights are typically hosted at residents’ homes from 6-8pm on either Monday or Tuesday evenings during interview season. Specific locations and dates will be sent to you when your interview date is confirmed.
