Department of Public Health Sciences Ranked #3 in NIH Funding

The UC Davis School of Medicine is among the nation’s leading medical schools in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, according to the latest Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research 2025 ranking. The medical school broke its record of NIH funding with a total of more than $233 million, placing it 31st nationally.

In 2025, twelve School of Medicine departments ranked in the top 20 nationally in their respective fields. They include:

The top three departments in terms of overall NIH funding were Neurology ($37.9 million), Public Health Sciences ($30.8 million) and Internal Medicine ($26.3 million).
