Our physiatrists provide specialized therapies for pain, including joint injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation.
Physical therapy combines exercises and education to help you gain muscle strength and move more easily with less pain. We offer inpatient PT for hospitalized patients, as well as outpatient PT.
Our occupational therapists help you learn how to perform daily living tasks more easily. These tasks include getting dressed, bathing, eating, and brushing your teeth. Our team identifies assistive devices and equipment, such as shower seats, that can simplify daily tasks.
Our hand therapists perform occupational therapy (OT). They treat conditions or injuries that affect your hand, arm, or shoulder.

The UC Davis Health Orthotics Workshop provides customized support braces for your feet, back, hands, and other parts of your body. These devices can help you get around and perform tasks more easily. They also lower your risk of additional injury.

Rehabilitation specialists at our Adult Amputee Clinic promote independence after the loss of a limb. If you get a prosthetic device, we help you get comfortable using it.
Neuromuscular diseases affect your nerves and muscles. These conditions include muscular dystrophy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. Our Neuromuscular Disease Clinic is Sacramento’s official diagnostic site for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We also have a Neuromuscular Research Lab and an ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic.
Our Post-Polio Clinic offers advanced rehabilitation services for people experiencing late effects of polio. Post-polio syndrome can occur up to 40 years after you’ve recovered from polio. It causes muscle weakness, joint pain, and spine problems. Our clinic is one of only four of its kind in the state.
Our Spinal Cord Injury Clinic is the only one in Northern California offering a full spectrum of services for people with spinal cord injuries. Our experts have advanced training in spinal cord injuries.
