National Institute on Aging $3 million grant focuses on improving Alzheimer’s and family caregiving research in Vietnam

Caring for a family member with dementia can be challenging and stressful in the best of circumstances. Vietnam and other countries in Asia are facing an unprecedented increase in the number of older adults with dementia but have little to no community support programs or services for family caregivers. The goal of this project is to test a culturally adapted dementia caregiver intervention in Vietnam and to strengthen research capacity through the development of a research network and mentored pilot projects.
