Dr. Kim's care is based on the biopsychosocial model in mental health and collaborative model of team-based care where the patient is at the center and an active participant. She pays attention to language preferences, diverse cultural considerations and strives to provide psychiatric care with a combination of psycho-pharmacological and psychosocial interventions in coordination with other specialties and treatment team members.
Dr. Kim hopes her multicultural background continues to help her to better connect with children, their families, and the treatment team in working together for a positive outcome and a better quality of life of children.
Dr. Kim is a general psychiatrist and child and adolescent psychiatrist who is committed to working with under-served populations with serious and complex behavioral needs in the outpatient setting.
Dr. Kim has a strong belief in the mission of teaching/mentoring, and sharing what she was thankful to receive throughout her career. She pursued the Medical Education Track during residency and since then, she has been involved in curriculum development, as well as teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows.
