Philosophy of Care

Dr. Yu's philosophy of care is to establish a collaborative space with caregivers and their children. Using a strength-based approach, Dr. Yu strives to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for the families she works with. Dr. Yu believes in adapting evidence-based strategies to meet the specific needs of youth and their family.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Yu is a clinical psychologist offering evidence-based psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and their families. She has proficiency in providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, behavioral and social concerns. She also has special clinical interest and expertise in diagnostic assessment and early intervention for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Yu's research focuses on community implementation of evidence-based intervention for young children with autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions, especially in the under-resourced areas. She also has an interest in psychosocial outcomes in caregivers of autistic individuals.
