As a psychiatrist, I collaborate with patients to develop care plans prioritizing whole-person wellness. I strive to educate, empower, and support patients who are navigating the challenges of acute and chronic illness(es). I work to balance autonomy in the shared decision-making process. I utilize my knowledge of neuroscience, psychotherapy, pharmacology, and public health to support my patients.
Dr. Kraus-Koziol is a general psychiatrist offering care to adults with various psychiatric conditions. They supervise residents at the Behavioral Health Center. Their clinical interests include integrative psychiatry, psychotherapy, as well as care of Indigenous and LGBTQ+ populations.
dr. Kraus-Koziol is interested in the education of medical students and resident physicians. They are a core faculty member in the UC Davis General Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Dr. Kraus-Koziol is the Assistant Director of Scholarly Projects for the Community Health Scholars in the UC Davis School of Medicine. They are interested in building and sustaining community-academic collaborations and interested community-engaged research with Indigenous American communities.
