Philosophy of Care

Dr. Kim believes that the best care comes from understanding the whole person including the mind, body, and the circumstances that shape their health. He is committed to listening carefully, explaining things clearly, and partnering with each patient to navigate even the most complex medical and psychiatric challenges together. For his own wellness, he enjoys trying new foods and traveling the world.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Kim is a trained internist and psychiatrist, who pursued further certification in addiction medicine. His clinical roles include outpatient addiction psychiatry as well as inpatient psychiatric consultation and medicine services. His clinical interests are serving patients with both medical and psychiatric illnesses.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Kim's current academic interests include graduate medical education, social determinants of health, complex medical and psychiatric co-morbidity, and health advocacy.
