Meet Our Residents

    PGY-3

    Vanessa Wei, Ph.D.

    Vanessa grew up in China before moving to Atlanta, GA to complete her B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She continued at Georgia Tech to earn her M.S. in Medical Physics, followed by a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering. Her research focused on in vivo gamma detection for internal contamination assessment radiation transport modeling.

    In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with her cat, Maddie.

    PGY-2

    Bagrat Sargsyan, Ph.D.

    Bagrat grew up in Yerevan, Armenia, earning B.S. and M.S. in Nuclear Physics from Yerevan State University and a Ph.D. in Accelerator Physics from CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute. During his doctoral studies, he researched accelerator physics and spent months as a guest scientist at DESY in Germany. He earned a Certificate in Medical Physics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and has worked as an Medical Physics Assistant with Siemens Healthineers.

    Outside of work, he enjoys swimming, tennis, basketball, and time with family and friends.
