A special joint research forum was hosted by the UC Davis Center for Healthcare Policy and Research (CHPR) and the Perinatal Origins of Disparities (POD) Center on May 25, 2022. The forum featured brief presentations and discussions with CHPR and POD researchers on a variety of topics, including:
- Effects of wildfire smoke and other air toxicant exposure on human chorionic gonadotropin levels and pregnancy outcomes
- Prenatal folic acid supplements: policy for prevention
- Maternal health equity and diabetes/cardiovascular disease prevention; interventions in health system settings
- Placenta accreta spectrum and iatrogenic prematurity
- SB 464: developing a racial equity training to advance Black maternal health
- AB 1930 – Medi-Cal: comprehensive perinatal services
- Supporting breastfeeding for maternal and child health
- Roe v. Wade open dialogue
