National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is a free program developed by the National Institutes of Health for use in certification of clinicians on administering an 11-item neurological examination to assess the effects of acute cerebral ischemia on patients.
Learn how to quantify items associated with major areas of the brain including level of consciousness, vision, motor, and cerebellar functions, sensation, language, and extinction or inattention to determine severity of acute ischemic stroke.
