Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Research
The EMR Research team was established to help clinical researchers take full advantage of tools within the Epic electronic medical record system for their research projects. The team consists of a dedicated group of analysts specializing in Epic's Research module. We work collaboratively with researchers in an effort to enhance the functionality and overall effectiveness of research workflows in the EMR. We offer a variety of services ranging from workflow training to study-specific requests in the EMR.

Submit an EMR Research Service Now Request
- Best Practice Advisories (BPAs) for Research Recruitment - Alert providers when a patient may be a good candidate for a study.
- MyChart Recruitment - Send IRB-approved research recruitment messages to patients with active MyUCDavisHealth (aka MyChart) accounts.
- SlicerDicer Study Feasibility and Cohort Discovery -This valuable self-service tool can help determine the feasibility of a study, generate a potential cohort, and even provide demographical information such as race and ethnicity for a population.
- Research Data Capture Forms - Collect, manage, and store clinical data during a trial.
- Contraindicated Medication Warnings - Alert providers of medications that may cross-react with another medication on the study, which could potentially jeopardize the subject's enrollment in the study.
- Research Study Order Panels and Order Sets Bundle research labs and procedures into one order panel or order set for more efficient order placement.
- Research Questionnaires - Send out research study-specific questionnaires to be completed by patients through their MyUCDavisHealth accounts.
- Training or Documentation - Our team provides individual and group trainings on research workflows, documentation, and other research-related needs.
