    Shanon Astley, M.D., Chief Resident Family Medicine/Psychiatry

    Congratulations to Shanon Astley, who has been named a 2024 Alexandra Symonds Fellow by the American Psychiatry Association (APA) and Association of American Women Psychiatrists (AWP)! The fellowship is awarded to outstanding female psychiatry residents/fellows who have demonstrated significant potential for leadership and contributions to women’s health. Astley participated in the APA/AWP Annual Meeting, May 4-8, in New York. The fellowship is designed to develop female psychiatrist leaders and improve the personal and professional roles of women. This is a remarkable honor and well deserved!

    Emma Felzien, M.D., FMOB Chief Resident

    Congratulations to Emma Felzien, who is a resident inductee to the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). Out of 62 nominated residents, Felzien received the highest number of nominations for her work during clinical training that exemplified GHHS characteristics – namely, the practice of humanistic patient care and service as a role model, mentor, and leader in medicine. She accepts the award at a GHHS induction ceremony on March 13. We are proud of this remarkable accomplishment!
