While each residency and fellowship program is designed to meet the unique requirements of the clinical specialty, UC Davis Medical Center is responsible for ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all residents & fellows based on the ACGME’s Training Requirements. The Graduate Medical Committee (GMEC) establishes educational policy, monitors resident working conditions (including salaries and duty hours), conducts internal reviews of each program, develops cross-residency educational programs, and advocates for Residents & Clinical Fellows. Additionally, the GMEC ensures that each graduate medical education program meets or exceeds all institutional and program requirements promulgated by the ACGME and its individual Residency Review Committees.
