Preventing Diabetes Living Healthy
Do you have any of the following risk factors: family history of diabetes, inactive lifestyle, over 45 years in age, overweight, and/or are of a Hispanic, Alaskan, Black or American Indian ethnicity? Have you been told you have pre-diabetes? This class provides information on risk factors and lifestyle changes to delay or prevent type 2 diabetes.
Topics include:
Risk factors for developing pre-diabetes and diabetes
Lifestyle strategies to delay or prevent diabetes
Importance of nutrition and its role in prevention
Emphasis on physical activity and weight management
Important note:
This class is free of charge and is open to patients who receive their primary care at UC Davis Health. This class is open to all UC Davis employees and retirees.
All classes are subject to cancellation if enrollment is low. In the event of a cancellation, all enrolled individuals will be notified.
